Still in the hospital...

So, we had a bit of a set back this week and I am still in the hospital.  On the upside, my wife said there were two sizable boxes at the house...from BamBam Productions.

Live update on Tim

This is Tim's wife Jessica, coming to you live from Vanderbilt University Medical Center with an update on Tim.

Surgery went well, and we are now on day 4 of recovery. The entire process has been and continues to be very interesting. What started out as a 2 1/2 hour surgery turned into a 4 1/2 hour surgery. Our physician is confident that he removed all of the cancer and the margins; however we are still awaiting lab results on the tissue that he removed to find out more about the cancer. After surgery, no rooms were available for Tim. He started his recovery in the main surgical recovery area. The surgical recovery area is where they usually take the patients to wake up from anesthesia, and then they transfer the patients to a room. If any of you have ever had surgery, you know that the recovery area is not the best, most quiet place for a person to rest and recover. We had a very frustrating stay in that area for what seemed like forever, but in reality was only for one day. Then were transferred to a private room. Our stay from the move on has been better. We have had dedicated nurses taking care of us, and we have had  more privacy to be able to rest.

Tim still has at least a couple days of recovery in the hospital to go before they will release him. He asked me to send an update, and reassure you all that he will be back asap.

Thanks for all the concerns, prayers and well wishes!

Out of Contact

Just a reminder that I will not be returning e-mails for about a week or so.  I am going in for surgery today and will be in the hospital for a few days...then two weeks of really good drugs.

See you on the flip side!

Cougar Update

I got an e-mail from the caster...BamBam Productions.

...the kit is cooler in person then in the pictures. This should do really well. The guys did the boxing of the parts and clay fitting and should lay rubber today. Then by Monday the second sides of the parts so after the curing, it is pouring time. We will take some pics ASAP as the parts come out .

Thanks for all your patience, pre-orders!

Thor

So, I am thinking the Thor is about done.  The only thing left to handle that is a pain is another cast of the upper leg.  For some reason, the resin did not set properly on this one and now the paint stays gooey.  You can see it on one pic...the primer is glossy. Here are some pics.

Then, the two new kittens...known around here as Clan Fur Babies...attacked the Thor.

The Thor has been returned to the Mech Bay for repairs.

As for the last post about finding cancer in my duodenum:  I spent Friday at the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center.  Docs, tests, more docs, more tests.  They have scheduled more diagnostics for next week, then surgery on May 23.  I will be in the hospital for 3-5 days depending on how complicated the procedure gets.  Then, about 4 weeks out of work to recoup.

Don't be surprised if you see some of my mechs on eBay to help with the doctor bills coming in.

And finally, thanks for all the warm thoughts and e-mails that have come my way.  It is truly appreciated.

Mech reinforcements en route!

The Cougar arrived at the caster safe and sound.  This morning I got an e-mail that they have begun work on the molds.  We could actually have kits in the next couple weeks.

I hope everyone realizes this is not really a money making venture.  If I break even on casting and supplies (or make a little extra), I am more than happy.  What excites me is to be able to bring these kits to you and keep interest in Battletech alive.  I get a thrill out of making them, and I hope you get a similar thrill building and displaying them.

On another note, I will be out of touch next week.  I have been having some health issues of late.  In fact, I have seen more doctors and specialists in the past 4 months than I care to ever have to see.  They finally found what may be the root of the problem...cancer.  A couple weeks ago they cut a couple masses out of my duodenum and they were surprised when the biopsies came back as cancerous.  Next week they are going to resect those areas where the tumors were to make sure all cancerous cells have been removed. Needless to say, I will be out of work and may or may not be able to post updates for you.

More posts as I can.
