More Masa...err...Warhawk Pics

So, since it is so miserably hot outside...(110 in Middle Tennessee????), I decided to try and get a little work done on the Masakari.  The main torso is almost done, but is so covered in glazing putty and what-not, the pics kinda stink. I went ahead a primed the top of the torso and a leg to give you an idea of where we are going...and I swear the primer was dry before it hit the plastic....

Quick Masakari Update....

I finished the feet and lower legs.  The actual feet are the MW4 style, but I had to add the rounded shape of the shin from the TRO style....

What could it be????

Now that I am off the heavy pain meds, I feel comfortable picking up the X-acto knife and plastic again.  A couple days ago I started printing, sticking, cutting and gluing....

Here are half the pieces I have so far.  Any guesses......

Any Ideas?  Here is another...

Need More????  This is a dead give away....

If you guessed Masakari, you would be correct.  Below is a pic of what I am going for.  Scott over at Messy Desk favors the MW4 versions...I myself often prefer the TRO versions so that is where I have decided to go with this version...a TRO 3050 Update Masakari...

Cougar Instructions

For those of you who have received your kits, you can see how everything goes together rather intuitively.  You start with this:

Then move on to this....

Then add the torso...

And the arms with lasers...

But some have asked about the tube like structure.  I have attached a pic of the beta build so you can see it attached under the chin. I tried to make little tabs on the back of the tube to match up under the chin, but they did not mold out crisp enough.

Cougar Reviews

So, the first batch of Cougars have arrived to their owners.  Here are a few of the responses....

Dave Writes:  My Cougars were waiting for me at the Post Office today... It's in the same quality league as the Armorcast stuff...Bravo, nice job all the way around.

Nate Writes:  I got the Cougars today, and wow! Very detailed and very, very light. Its amazing how light it is!

So far, everyone seems to be happy with this latest mech.  It is my hope to do more in the near future. Enjoy your mechs everyone!

UpDate: Good News!

All Cougar kits have shipped!  Thank you to everyone who made this possible...without your support the Cougar would not have seen the light of day.

Scott...great "beta build" for me to finalize
To all those that pre-ordered...I won't mention names (privacy) but I would especially like to thank those that ordered multiple copies ( you know who you are) to ensure we hit our goal.
BamBam...great work on the casting.  The rotocast torso is great work.

In the next few days, I am going to post a very basic instruction sheet.  I made tabs for all parts so as you fit it together, you will see that certain pieces will only go one way.  The legs are identical to the Puma legs...a recast in fact of some legs from Ravenstar.

Now, on to other business.  If anyone is interested in some of my mechs, I am parting with a few. The Shadowcat and Zeus are going on the auction block, so to speak.  The medical bills are coming due.

SHADOWCAT and THE ZEUS SOLD.  These are 1-off items that are not being cast.

Back to the hospital

So I spent the morning back at the hospital.  I have been having numbness in my legs and its getting worse, so more tests.  Yay!

On another note, did I mention that BamBam rotocast the Cougar's body?  I was worried about the weight of all that resin being too heavy for the legs over a long period. To solve this, they hollow-cast the body.  It makes it lighter although it is a more labor intensive process.  Good call on their part!

Cougars

Hi Everyone,

I am at home and finally stepping down off some of the pain medication. With my wife's help I have sorted all the pieces from BamBam into their respective kits. It is my hope to start shipping them out next week.  My wife will help me pack them and then she will have to ship them as I am not supposed to be driving for a couple more weeks. It may be a touch longer for those overseas orders as the customs forms are a pain in the neck and I will have to get her to take me to the post office when she can.

Thanks for your patience.
