Marauder Pre-Order Closing

FYI:  The pre-orders for the Marauder seem to have peaked.  As no new orders are coming in, the pre-order will close on Friday January 25.  Any Marauder ordered after that will be sold at regular retail, currently TBD but it will be around $135 plus shipping.

Marauder Pre-Order

I have my quote from the caster and am opening the pre-order for the Marauder. The price will be $120.00 plus shipping.  Shipping to the lower 48 is $12.50.  Due to the constantly varying rates and Covid restrictions, International orders will have shipping billed separately once the kit is ready.  Please PM me or e-mail battlemechmodels@hotmail.com to order.

The kit will have 2 cockpit options, the AC is a ball and socket for dynamic poses, and other joints are bevel/recess designs like the Quickdraw hip joints. This allows, again, for more dynamic poses when building.  While I neglected to measure it I would estimate it at 8.5-9" tall.

January Update

Projects are moving along nicely.  I am making good progress on the 3025 Marauder.  The cockpit has been a pain as we don't want this mech to look like a Macross Glaug...we want it to look like a Battletech Marauder.  That round opening "eye" is too much Macrossy so we are trying to design one that flows with the mech's body and looks different from the Macross look.  Pictures to come soon.

In the mean time, here is an update on the Savannah Master.  The artist has added some detail to the cockpit area and the engine.

The End Is In Sight

Hi all...time for that end of year post.  So, 2021 has actually been rougher than 2020.  There have been set-backs on this business front as well as issues on the home front.  After talking with my wife we have decided that 2022 will be the make it or break it year for Battlemech Models.  There are plans, there are sales goals.  If we meet projections we will keep going.  If not, well...I'll probably toss in the towel and just do a mech here and there.

What's in the works?  Well, the Corsair didn't draw enough interest to make it feasible to kit. Neither did the Hatomoto-Chi.  So, right now I am focusing on a commission of the Classic 3025 Marauder. That should be available late winter 2022.  I am also working with the same artist who made the Quickdraw to create an updated Savannah Master.  See the pics below.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!

Private Facebook Page

Hey every one.  Just a quick reminder that I have a PRIVATE Facebook page for my customers.  It is a place for those of you that have my models to post your images, share your thoughts, help each other with builds and whatnot.  There is no politics, religious discussions, current events, etc.  It is just for discussion of my mechs.  Also, I tend to post more info there than here as I am not sure Blogger is reaching as many people as it use to.

Early October Update

Quick Update:  There have been some price drops in the shop.  The Fafnir and Annihilator have had their prices reduced.  The molds are starting to get old and I'm not sure how much longer the molds will hold out.   Also, I have added the Quickdraw to the shop.  Now that I am finishing the Pre-Orders I am going to open it up to the public.

September Update: International Shipping

Good Morning all.  Patreon supporters should be receiving their latest perks in the next few days.  Yay!

Now for the Boo...INTERNATIONAL ORDERS are being temporarily suspended.  Some countries are refusing international packages, others are so slow it is taking 6-8 weeks to get a First Class Packages delivered.  Rates are outrageous as well.  An order to Germany weighing in at 1 pound 10 ounces cost almost $80 to ship...for a $130 mech.  Also, even though I stress it before shipping the package there is nothing I can do once the packages leaves my hands.  All I can do is track it...just like the customer.  There is no one I can call to see what is going on with the package especially once the package reaches the destination country.

Covid has killed international shipping...

To end with a Yay...the first round of Quickdraw kits are going out this week.

More Later...
